SETTING THE TABLE

As Thanksgiving draws closer, we gathered a bounty of beautiful items from area boutiques to set a table to remember.

Inspiration for our tablescape was provided by the petite antique firescreen, painted with a botanical scene you could find on any of our bayous or ponds and sourced from Material Things. Flowers, including carnations, cattails, leucospermum, and various grains, were sourced from Carlstedt’s. Unusual mercury glass votive holders from Palette House and antique barley twist wooden candleholders from Traditions on Trenton provide a soft glow. Twisty neutral candles are from Walsworth & Co. The table is set with Spode’s iconic Woodland Collection from The Muffin Tin and Trenton House, featuring all of Louisiana’s favorite creatures like black bears, mallards, our most loved hunting dogs, and more. Antique antler-handled forks and knives, sourced from Traditions on Trenton, add to the refined setting. Handsewn French napkins in a delicate block print are from Material Things. Tortoiseshell is one of the most exciting trends in tableware, and these stems and glasses were sourced from Walsworth & Co., along with the feathered round placemats. Add an antique, Majolica pitcher and charming hen on nest lidded serving piece from Traditions on Trenton to capture the essence of a well-collected home.
