On March 10th the Delta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta at ULM hosted their annual 5k Shamrock Run, and it was a huge success. Despite the forecast predicting 100% chance of thunderstorms, the weather held off, and it was beautiful skies and nearly perfect running weather for the participants. Runners took off at 9 a.m. and ran through the course as they were covered in color powder by Kappa Delta members. The color run went even better than expected, but the best part is knowing the money raised is going to a great cause. An estimated $35,000-$45,000 was raised by the event. Of this money, 20% will go to Kappa Delta’s national philanthropy, and the other 80% will stay in Monroe with the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home. Kappa Delta would like to thank everyone who attended, sponsored and ran in the 5k, and we hope to see everyone again next year!
