On Saturday, January 26th, the 3rd Annual Empty Bowls lunch event was held at Downtown Monroe’s newest venue, The Hub, to benefit the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana. A sampling of signature dishes from mulitple area chefs were served, accompanied by live music, activities for kids and adults and a silent auction. 18 food vendors participated this year, and there was also face painting, a pottery demo, art, and a photobooth. The food vendors included: Parish Restaurant, The Fat Pelican, For His Temple Family Foods, Grown and Grazed, Chef Pat Nolan, The Good Earth Juice and Salad Bar, Health with Hope, Thurman’s, Uptown Downtown Ruston, JAC’s Tailgaters, Willie’s Food Truck Park, Copeland’s, WingStop, Taste of India, Dreux Coffee, Newk’s Eatery and CC’s Coffee House. Guests left the event with their choice of a beautiful, hand-crafted bowl by a local artist as a reminder of all of the empty bowls in our community.
