Using a sugar scrub once a week as an exfoliant to remove the top layer of dead skin cells can give skin a summer-kissed glow. The coconut oil and vitamin E oils moisturize your skin and the watermelon powder promotes healthy skin with vitamins A and C. Use in the shower and rinse thoroughly.

WHAT YOU NEED:
 3/4 cup white sugar
 1/4 cup watermelon powder
1/2 cup coconut oil or other carrier oil
1/2 tsp vitamin E oil (optional)
 5-10 drops peppermint essential oil
 15-20 drops watermelon fragrance oil
1 Tbsp poppy seeds (to mimic watermelon seeds)
Food coloring (optional)
Preservative like phenonip (you must use a preservative if you use watermelon powder or store in fridge up to 2 weeks. You would use 0.5 percent to 1 percent by total weight.)

DIRECTIONS:
Combine the white sugar and watermelon powder in a bowl.  Add the coconut oil and vitamin E oils to the mixture and stir well.  Add preservative in the recommended amount if you used watermelon powder (optional), or plan to store in the fridge for up to two weeks. Add drops of food coloring (optional) until you get the desired color for your watermelon body scrub. Then add the watermelon fragrance oil and peppermint essential oil.  Start with the lowest number of drops, stir, and then smell.  Add more of each as needed.  Add in poppy seeds (optional) for an added “watermelon seed” look. Pour into an air-tight lidded container and store in the fridge until use (up to 2 weeks). This sugar scrub is not recommended for use on your face.
