Winter can take its toll on your lips. Add soothing moisture to alleviate cracking for soft, supple lips with a customizable lip balm you can make in 30 minutes or less.

What you need:

Push tubes 5-10
6 TBSP avocado oil
2 TBSP coconut oil
2 TBSP white beeswax
1 1/2 TBSP cera bellina wax
1 tsp vitamin E oil
20 drops of peppermint essential oil
(can be customized with any essential oil you wish)
1 1/2 tsp rose gold mica
(can be customized with any color mica you wish)

Directions:

Use a small microwaveable container to melt the coconut and avocado oil. Add the vitamin E oil and stir to combine. Add white beeswax and cera bellinawax and heat in microwave for 30 seconds at a time until the waxes have completely melted. Be careful when removing the container from the microwave because contents may be scalding hot. Add your essential oil flavor and stir. Add shimmery color with the mica of your choosing and stir to combine until there are no clumps. You can add more mica if you wish a more saturated color. Pour the mixture into the push tubes once the mixture has cooled to about 130 degrees F. Allow to fully cool and harden. Pop in freezer or fridge for an extra cooling effect.

Sugar Lip Scrub

What you need:
About 5 clear lip balm pots
1 TBSP coconut oil
1/3 TBSP cocoa butter
1/4 TBSP rosehip seed oil or vitamin E oil
1/4 tsp orange essential oil flavor (or a flavor of your choosing)
1/8 tsp rose gold mica (or any shimmery mica you choose)
1 1/2 TBSP granulated sugar

Directions:

Add coconut oil, cocoa butter and rosehip seed oil in a small, microwaveable bowl. Heat for 30 seconds at a time until cocoa butter is melted completely. Take care when removing from microwave as container and oils will be hot. Add your essential oil flavor into the bowl and stir well. Next add your colorful mica and stir until all chunks of color are integrated. Add the sugar into the melted oils and stir until the sugar is fully incorporated. The texture will start to thicken. As the mixture cools down the sugar will start to suspend in the oils and achieve a “gloopy” texture. At this point you’ll want to transfer the scrub into the lip balm pots. Allow to fully cool before use. Apply sugar scrub to lips and exfoliate away! Wipe off or wash away any excess sugar scrub and apply your favorite lip balm!
